YOUR FREEDOM. YOUR FUTURE.
San Diego Arrest and Bench Warrant Lawyer
An outstanding warrant can turn an ordinary encounter into an arrest. Do not ignore it or assume it will expire. Get advice about the warrant, the court record, and a lawful plan to address it.

Arrest warrants and bench warrants
An arrest warrant authorizes law enforcement to arrest a named person based on the required legal showing. A bench warrant commonly follows a missed required court appearance or failure to comply with a court order. Neither type is a conviction, but both can expose you to custody and require prompt attention.
A warrant’s execution remains subject to legal limits, including applicable rules concerning entry, location, timing, and the type of offense. An arrest warrant is different from a search warrant; one does not automatically authorize unlimited searches.
Checking the record and addressing the warrant
Counsel can examine the case number, issuing court, reason for issuance, bail or release terms, and any appearance requirement. A public lookup may help identify a warrant, but absence from an online database does not establish that none exists. Confirm the actual court record before relying on an assumption.
Depending on the case, an attorney may request a hearing to recall or quash a bench warrant, address the underlying noncompliance, or arrange an appearance and request release. Some matters permit counsel to appear; others require the person. Avoiding custody cannot be promised.
Prepare rather than wait for another encounter
Bring notices, citations, proof of completed programs, payment records, and information about missed hearings. Lack of notice, medical circumstances, or completed obligations may be relevant but do not automatically cancel a warrant. New failure-to-appear allegations and release consequences depend on the facts and governing law.
